Garage Lambert

One of the many old buildings in the centre of Luxembourg which do not exist anymore. An old garage pulled down in 2007. The building had been desolated long before the demolition, however there were still a few intereting objects left, e.g. an old manual petrol pump.

In October 2008 Czech, Hungarian, Polish and Slovak translators organised a Festival of the Central-East European Cinema in Luxembourg. For me it was an excellent opportunity to meet old friends and to carry out a photo project entitled "One Journey, Nine Photos".

Some time ago I used to experiment with infrared photography. With its ominous buildings and nature Luxembourg seemed to be a perfect city for depicting an ethereal atmosphere of nightmare. The photographs were taken with a Canon AE1 and the Illford SFX and Kodak HIE films.
